This is a song about finding out that you're not quite as safe as you thought you were - something which seemed particularly common following the terrorist attacks in September 2001, although these lyrics were more about personal relationships.
I wrote the music for these lyrics in August 2002, and put a recording of the song online. I had to take it off however, because it included a sample, but I've since re-recorded the song as this version here.
